Catanduanes Negosyo Centers ease registration through BOSS

Hundreds of local business owners have been assisted in the first month of 2022 by the Negosyo Centers established by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Catanduanes provincial office in seven towns.

The Negosyo Centers manned by respective Business Counselors in Viga, Pandan, Virac, San Andres, Caramoran, Baras and Bato have actively participated in the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) in the local governments.

The month-long BOSS is being conducted every January to facilitate the processing of business permits.

Through BOSS, local business registrants need not visit all concerned offices for the release and approval of their license because offices such as DTI, BFP, RHU, BPLO, MTO, MEO, MENRO are already gathered in one setting.

This helps applicants for new and renewal registrations to save time, effort and resources because all they need to do is to go to one common venue where all the needed services are readily available. This practice is also beneficial for all participating agencies as they can expedite the processing of permits and collection and verification of documents also becomes easier.

Pursuant to RA 10644 or the Go Negosyo Act, Negosyo Centers (NC) are established nationwide to provide a package of assistances to local business owners and to encourage and hone potential MSMEs to traverse the entrepreneurial route competitively.

Its mandate to support industries in the localities led to many other efforts to ultimately address the struggles of an entrepreneur whether potential or existing.

On top of the NC-processed registrations, the DTI Catanduanes Provincial Office also continuously receives and processes DTI Business Name (BN) applications through the BN Teller.

A total of 662 permits were processed and issued by DTI in January this year, posting a 25% increase from the 528 permits issued and processed in 2021.

This is just a kick-off for more activities in store for Catanduanes Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) this year.

“Salamat DTI, at least di na kami mapa-Virac. Dakulang tipid sa pamasahe. Mapadari na ang pag-rehistro ning business kan mga Batonhon” said Zenaida Z, Timbal, owner of Renz Sari-Sari Store in San Roque, Bato.

Timbal expressed her gratitude to Negosyo Center Bato, the newest NC in Catanduanes that was established last November 2021. She attests to the fast and reliable service during BOSS period which saved her time, effort and money, all of which are highly valuable for an entrepreneur.
