A 76-year old woman who went missing from her bedroom in the early morning of Aug. 11, 2021 was later found floating near the seashore of a neighboring village in San Andres town.
The report said that the night before, Ma. Purita Magno Regalado, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, was asked by her relative to sleep and was then seen going inside her room in their house in barangay Datag.
Later, at 4am, her niece woke up and noticed that the door to Regalado’s room was open. When she looked inside, the old woman was no longer there.
She exerted efforts to look for Ma. Purita at the places she frequented but didn’t find her there. On her way to the adjacent barangay of San Vicente, she met the barangay secretary and asked her if she saw her auntie.
The latter disclosed that she saw the patrol car of the San Andres police carrying a body of a dead person who was found at barangay Tominawog.
The police had received information at 5:55am that day regarding an alleged drowning incident in the barangay and immediately went to the area.
