Man drowns in Oco river

Barangay officials last week found the body of a man who apparently drowned in Oco river after going there to catch fish a day earlier.

A report from the Viga police station stated that the victim, Cerilo Tusi Vitalicio, 40, single and a laborer from barangay Quezon, left the village at 7 A.M. of Nov. 19, 2020 to catch fish at the river of the neighboring San Jose (Oco).

The man, however, failed to come home, prompting his family to seek help from Quezon barangay officials.

It was already 10:50 A.M. of Nov. 20 when the officials found Vitalicio’s body on the river along barangay San Jose. It was brought to the Viga Rural Health Unit for postmortem examination.
