Coast Guard Bicol gets navigation aids from 905th CGAS Catanduanes

The 905th Coast Guard Auxiliary Service (CGAS) Catanduanes has donated a set of Aids to Navigation equipment to Coast Guard District Bicol (CGDBCL) that will support the maintenance and ensure operational sustainability of its facilities.

Last March 24, 2026, PCG District Commander Commodore Ivan E. Roldan received the donation from Auxiliary Captain Ariel E. Tabirara, PCGA, Director of the 905th CGAS Catanduanes, together with Auxiliary Captain Ivanhoe V. Arcilla, PCGA, and Auxiliary Lieutenant Maricar T. Angulo, PCGA, during the formal turnover ceremony at the PCG Bicol headquarters in Legazpi City.

The donation, consisting of two (2) units of solar panels, two (2) units of solar batteries, and one (1) unit of solar charge controller, reaffirms the Coast Guard Auxiliary’s continued commitment to maritime safety and navigational security.

Also present during the activity were Lieutenant Commander Mauricio P. Austria, PCG, Lieutenant Junior Grade Jonathan E. Cañones, PCG, and Lieutenant Junior Grade Bercasio, PCG, of MSSU-BCL, and Lieutenant Junior Grade Aringo, PCG, of Coast Guard Station Catanduanes.

This initiative highlights the strong partnership between the Philippine Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Auxiliary in enhancing maritime safety through the provision of reliable and sustainable navigational support systems, the Coast Guard District Bicol said.

According to an officer of 905th CGAS Catanduanes, the equipment will be deployed to Puraran Lighthouse in Baras town.
