Chapter administrator Reymund Reginaldo disclosed that Red Cross response teams stayed in San Miguel for almost a month, delivering water to several barangays hit by flooding.
In his message, Dir. Tejerero asked residents of the town to support the chapter’s membership campaign and stressed that the spirit of volunteerism must continue.
“By helping Red Cross, you are also helping others,” he pointed out, adding that any aid or support for the PRC will assist vulnerable populations in times of disasters.
Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza, who was represented by Nelson Sicio, told beneficiaries not to lose hope in times of calamity as he assured that the provincial government has continued to look for sources of assistance.
Reiterating his administration’s desire for interactive efforts in rebuilding communities to be more resilient, he thanked people with kind hearts, government and non-government organizations like the Red Cross and its volunteers for their dedication during the relief operation.
For his part, Chairman Gordon called on the people to help themselves as he underscored the PRC’s drive for self-reliance, cooperation and volunteerism in each of its 102 chapters, particularly through Red Cross 143 that seeks to organize 143 volunteers in each barangay.
