PBGen. Miranda brings over P3-M worth of equipment for local police

PBGen. Erosito N. Miranda, Acting Regional Director of Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5), brought with him over P3 million worth of mobility assets and other equipment during his command visit to the men and women of the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office last Feb. 4, 2026.

He presided over the turnover of two patrol cars, a light machine gun, several units of Enhanced Combat Helmet III, and ICT equipment aimed at further strengthening the operational capability of various PNP units on the island.

Following the warm welcome at Camp Francisco Camacho, PBGen. Miranda personally addressed local police personnel headed by Provincial Director PCol. Elmer R. Cereno and shared his guidance, leadership insights, and words of encouragement, emphasizing professionalism, integrity, and dedication to public service.

In recognition of strong collaboration and community partnership, he also spearheaded the awarding of various stakeholders for their valuable support and unwavering commitment to the endeavors of the PNP.  The awardees were acknowledged for being reliable partners in crime prevention, peacekeeping, and public safety initiatives in the province.

Personnel of the Catanduanes PPO were likewise recognized for their commendable efforts and unwavering dedication in ensuring community safety, in line with the ideals of a “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”

Capping off the visit, PBGen. Miranda joined the officers and personnel in a boodle fight, symbolizing unity, camaraderie, and shared commitment among the leadership and the rank-and-file.

The command visit highlighted PRO 5’s sustained commitment to enhancing operational readiness, strengthening stakeholder partnerships, and boosting personnel morale.

The new equipment brought by the Bicol PNP acting regional director is part of the PNP’s 2025 procurement of 75 units of single-cab, 4×2 patrol jeep worth a total of P92.4 million; 155 units of light machine guns for use as squad automatic weapon and bought from Mertsav Defense of Turkey for P104.5 million; and 7,924 units of Enhanced Combat Helmet with Level III protection that can stop a hit from a 7.62mm, 9mm and .44 Magnum round, purchased for about P57,000 per unit from Mars Armor of Bulgaria.
