Swift action by Virac police leads to recovery of stolen motorcycle

Elements of Virac Municipal Police Station acted with dispatch on a complaint regarding a stolen motorcycle last week and successfully recovered the vehicle in less than two hours.

According to the report, the victim went to the police station and claimed that his motorcycle was stolen at about 9:30 PM of Jan. 13, 2026 while parked in front of the Runway 24 commercial building in eastern Cavinitan.

Upon receiving the information, police chief PMaj. Kenneth Ding C. Gutierrez immediately mobilized patrol units and intelligence operatives to conduct a surveillance and pursuit operation.

The break in the case came at around 10:40 PM in Cavinitan when operatives led by PCapt. Rhandy Rapesora spotted an individual driving a motorcycle that matched the description of the stolen motorbike.

After a few minutes in pursuit, the law enforcers intercepted the man, who failed to produce any legal documentation or proof of ownership of the motorcycle he was using.

The complainant subsequently arrived at the scene and positively identified the motorcycle as his property.

The unidentified suspect was placed under arrest and brought to the police station together with the stolen motorcycle.

PCol. Cereno commended the Virac MPS for their alertness and swift resolution of the case and highlighted the station’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the security of the community’s property and maintaining public order.

According to a source, the suspect was a certain Kenneth Zafe Tesorer, 21, a resident of Paraiso B, San Miguel and working as a service crew of a Virac restaurant.

A case for violation of the Anti-Carnapping Law has been filed against him before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.

Simple carnapping could be penalized with imprisonment of 20 to 30 years.
