Five days after a successful mission in Calatagan Proper, the Virac Municipal Police Station scored again in the campaign against illegal drugs, taking down a 25-year-old resident of San Isidro Village in a buy-bust operation.
The jobless man was apprehended by elements of the Virac MPS headed by police chief PMaj. Kenneth Ding C. Gutierrez, together with personnel of the Regional Police Drug Endorcement Unit (RPDEU) and the Catanduanes Provincial Intelligence Unit (CatPIU), after he was caught selling suspected shabu to an undercover policeman during the operation at the barangay last Nov. 30, 2025.
Seized from the suspect as evidence were the big sachet of shabu weighing approximately 50 grams and worth an estimated P350,000 on the street, the buy-bust money and other non-drug items.
He is now in custody of the police while the confiscated shabu is undergoing laboratory examination. Appropriate charges for violation of Section 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for the sale and possession of dangerous drugs.
Pursuant to the directive of PNP Provincial Director PCol. Elmer R. Cereno, the the Catanduanes Provincial Police Office continues to implement a rigorous campaign against illegal drugs to ensure that all individuals involved in the use and sale of prohibited drugs are caught and brought to justice.
