Those with criminal intent who wish to encounter members of the local police will have to think twice after the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office achieved an outstanding 98 percent passing rate in last week’s 4th Quarter Modified Handgun Markmanship Training.
The demonstration of exceptional proficiency in firearms handling was seen during the Nov. 25, 2025 training at the CatPPO Firing Range at Camp Francisco Camacho where a total of 50 police personnel from the provincial headquarters, various municipal police stations, and Mobile Force companies across the province participated.
Of the 50 participants, 49 personnel successfully passed the training and seven personnel further qualified as “Pistol Sharpshooters.”
Camp Camacho credited the high level of competence to the command’s commitment to preparation, primarily through the regular conduct of dry-firing and pre-marksmanship training conducted by the CatPPO’s Provincial Learning and Doctrine Development Branch (PLDDB) through its dedicated and certified Pistol Instructors and Range Safety Officers.
The Handgun Marksmanship Training was spearheaded by experts from the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division 5 (RLDDD5) and the Regional Special Training Unit 5 (RSTU5), with facilitation provided by the CatPPO PLDDB.
This achievement highlights the Catanduanes PNP’s dedication to maintaining a highly trained and professional police force, ensuring the safety and readiness of its personnel in the performance of their duties, the provincial police command stressed.
