
The Catanduanes police gained headway in its campaign against illegal drugs, netting two suspected drug pushers in separate buy-bust operations in Caramoran and Bato recently.
Last Nov. 4, joint elements of the Caramoran police station led by deputy chief of police PEMS Dario Gregorio, together with the Catanduanes Police Intelligence Unit in the lead in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency regional office, arrested Kimberly Jess Briones Galicia, 34, a collector from Cobo, Pandan, in the sting operation that went down in Tucao, Caramoran last Nov. 4, 2025.
Seized from the suspect was the sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P5,000 that he handed over to the undercover police officer, a genuine P500 bill and three fake ones used as boodle money.
The entire operation was documented using body-worn camera and an alternative recording device.
Two days earlier, a jobless man from San Isidro Village, Virac, was apprehended in a similar operation in Tilis, Bato that was mounted by elements of the Bato police station together with CATPIU and PDEA personnel.
Marjon Morales Borre, 48, was collared after receiving a genuine P500 bill and a fake bill of the same denomination from the poseur buyer at 12:39 PM of Nov. 2.
He yielded a plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
The two arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165 for the sale of dangerous drugs.
