A resident of San Isidro, Viga town was arrested by Caramoran police personnel while he was in the act of transporting fish caught through the use of explosives.
The report from the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office identified the suspect as fish vendor Rene Botilo Camacho, 31.
Law enforcers led by PCpl. Jake Salameña held Camacho after the police caught him transporting 92 kilos of “dalagang bukid” loaded on a Rusi 150 topdown tricycle at sitio Otsenta in barangay Sabloyon at 5:48 AM of Aug., 6, 2025.
Registered fish examiner PSSg Emmanuel Cante certified that the fish being sold by Camacho was caught through the use of explosives.
The suspect could face a criminal charge for violation of Republic Act 8550 as amended by RA 10654.
