A native resident of Virac accused of five (5) counts of rape committed 11 years ago and listed as a National Most Wanted Person was arrested last week in Cavite province where he was making a living as a tricycle driver.
Joint elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Catanduanes field office, together with the Regional Intelligence Unit-Provincial Intelligence Team Catanduanes (RIU-PIT) which provided the intel, Catanduanes Police Provincial Intelligence Unit, 1st Police Mobile Force Company and Rosario, Cavite municipal police station nabbed Arnel Santos Ogalesco, 47, in Bagbag II, Rosario last July 4, 2024 at 10 AM.
He was apprehended on the basis of the May 14, 2013 arrest warrant issued by then Regional Trial Court Branch 42 Acting Presiding Judge Lelu P. Contreras for the crime of rape docketed under Criminal Case Nos. 4617 to 4621 with no bail recommended and Criminal Case No. 4620 with bail set at P200,000.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) had listed Ogalesco as a National Most Wanted Person with a reward of P345,000.
