1,400 overseas, local vacancies open at May 28 Job Fair of Catanduanes LGU

Jobseekers in the island province of Catanduanes are invited to apply for numerous vacancies up for grabs in the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Job Fair this May 29, 2024, at the Provincial Convention Center, Capitol compound, Virac.

About 500 local vacancies are offered by private establishments and non-government organizations operating in the province, the Bicol Region, and other parts of the country, while 900 overseas vacancies are also available at the job fair.

The Philippine Statistics Authority will be also joining the job fair to recruit enumerators, team supervisors, and census area supervisors for their Census on Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), household energy consumption survey, annual poverty indicator survey, and labor force survey programs.

Some of the local vacancies are for Auditor, Account Officers, Accounting Staff, Bagger, BPO Agents, Branch Mechanic, Cashier, Community Development Officer, Food Service Personnel, Graphic Artist, Marketing Assistant, Merchandiser, Microfinance Officer, Sales Clerk, Sales Personnel, Truck Driver, and Utility Staff.

Meanwhile, some of the overseas jobs available are for engineers, nurses, cook, spa therapists, hairdressers, waiters, bartenders, pharmacists, restaurant managers, photographers, laboratory technicians, and other jobs in the health care, wellness, construction, and hospitality industries.

The job fair, which is part of the 8th staging of the Abaca Festival, is organized by the Provincial Government of Catanduanes through the Public Employment Service Office and with the guidance of the Department of Labor and Employment Catanduanes Provincial Office.

The participating employers are ACC Hypermart Corporation – Gogon Sirangan,  ACC Hypermart San Andres, ARDCI Microfinance Inc., ASA Philippines Foundation, Inc., Bistro Mykono, Centro Department Store/Citistores Inc., Century Family Mall Corporation, JC Cua Group of Companies, JCC Construction and Supply, M&M Lending Investors, Mitsukoshi Motors Philippines, Inc., Monj Bistro, Philippine Statistics Authority, Shopbox Trading and Allied Services, Sutherland Global Services, SPX Express Delivery and Tracking,  Virac Marketplace, and Virac Sunrise Savers Corporation.

Overseas placement agencies joining the job fair are Unionskills Intertnation, Inc., Manila On-Time Express, Jamal Human Resource, Internationale, and Optionplus Services & Trading Corp.

Jobseekers are advised to come prepared with application requirements, such as a resume or curriculum vitae, diploma, transcript of records, and certificate of employment for those previously employed.

Governor Joseph C. Cua, aside from gracing the opening program of the Job Fair, will lead the distribution of abaca mechanized stripping machines to six livelihood associations.
