A 32-year-old man from Camarines Sur was stabbed once last week during the celebration of the San Isidro Village barangay fiesta in Virac following an argument during a drinking session.
According to the police, the victim, Jonel Erandio Secretario, a temporary resident of the barangay, was having drinking liquor with the suspect, Angel Alegre Novela III, 46, a construction worker and SIV resident sometime before 7:40 PM of May 15, 2024 at the residence of barangay kagawad John Kristoffer Pagal.
Shortly, however, a heated argument ensued between the two men, prompting Novela to go home to avoid trouble but he was followed by Secretario and some of his friends.
When Novela was about to go out of his house, he was again confronted by Secretario for the second time. The suspect was angered when the victim took Novela’s bicycle, leading him to stab Secretario on the right portion of the chest.
He fled towards barangay Gogon Centro and surrendered to Punong Barangay Garry Socito, while the victim was assisted by residents who brought him to the hospital for treatment.
