Another high-value target in the Catanduanes police’s anti-illegal drug campaign has been arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in Virac last week.
Tricycle driver Sherwin Garry Tablizo Tabilin, 29, a resident of Pajo Baguio, was apprehended after selling a plastic bag containing white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride to a police officer posing as a buyer last March 19, 2024 at 6:49 PM in barangay Sogod Tibgao.
Aside from the sachet, the designated searcher also found in his possession three sachets of suspected shabu, with the seized drugs estimated to weigh about 50 grams.
Also confiscated were non-drug items, including a genuine P500 bill, 300 pieces of P1,000 “boodle” money, 49 pieces of P500 “boodle” money, a black coin purse, translucent plastic bag, self-sealing plastic sachet, two empty sachets, white paper, Vivo smart phone and one (1) unit yellow colored tricycle with black Honda TMX motorcycle with temporary plate no. 0544-029520.
The suspect as well as mandatory witnesses were present during the inventory of evidence at the place of incident.
The operation was conducted by joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Catanduanes as the lead unit, along with the Virac Municipal Police Station and the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU).
Charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, will be filed against Tabilin.
