The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducted a Provincial Consultation Workshop with stakeholders in the Agriculture and Fishery sector in Catanduanes on March 8, 2023 at Gran Isabel, Constantino, Virac. The workshop mainly aimed to identify crops and fish commodities to be highlighted in the Value of Production in Agriculture and Fishery as well as determine emerging agricultural commodities in the province. These outputs will serve as inputs in the compilation of Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) in Catanduanes.
The workshop was attended by various stakeholders from the agriculture and fishery sector in the province, including representatives from municipal and provincial local government units. The participants shared their insights and recommendations regarding the issues on data on agriculture and fishery in the province.
The output of the workshop of Catanduanes was then presented by Supervising Agriculturist, Ace William Tria of the Provincial Agriculture Services Office (PASO) last 16 March 2023 at Hotel St. Ellis, Legazpi City,
Albay.
The Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) provides a comprehensive picture of the economic performance of a province. It measures the production and income generated by three major sectors: Agriculture and Fishery, Industry, and Services.
