Collaboration between Philippine Statistical Authority (PSA) Catanduanes and the PSA Regional Statistical Office has resulted in a successful training on the Batch Request Entry Query System (BREQS) procedures for its partners in the local government unit.
The training conducted last January 19, 2023 was attended by representatives of the Office of Municipal Civil Registrar from LGUs who signed respective Memorandum of Agreement with PSA.
Aimed at instructing LGU partners on the efficient processing of BREQS transactions, the training covered both the theoretical and practical aspects of the BREQS process, with a focus on the use of the BREQS software.
The attendees were not only able to learn the process of BREQS but also the installation of BREQS software which was a great value addition to the training.
Expert PSA trainers who have extensive knowledge and experience in the use of the BREQS were able to provide detailed explanations of the process, as well as demonstrate the use of the software through hands-on activities.
The attendees were also able to ask questions and clarify any doubts they had about the process.
One of the main challenges faced by Catandunganons from far-flung areas is the travelling expenses to obtain or request the PSA copy of their civil registry documents.
The BREQS system is designed to streamline this process, making it easier and faster for LGU partners to complete their tasks and provide a dependable service for everyone.
Residents requesting for vital records such as Birth certificates, Certificates of No Record of Marriage (CENOMAR), marriage, and death certificates can secure it with less cost and time spent right at the local civil registry office with BREQS services, making it easier and more convenient to the transacting public.
The success of the training is testament to the value of collaboration between PSA Catanduanes and the PSA Regional Office.
By working together, they were able to provide a comprehensive training tailored to the needs of the LGU partners.
This training will have a positive impact on the daily operations of the local government units and will ultimately benefit the communities they serve.
This program is a perfect example of how collaboration can lead to positive outcomes and improve the services offered to the community
What is BREQS?
The BREQS (Batch Request Entry Query System) is a scheme where PSA authorizes a partner agency to receive requests for PSA-issued copies and certifications of civil registry documents from the public and to issue the documents to its client.
Under the scheme, PSA shall be providing the BREQS User the software, form templates, updates and procedures necessary in servicing its clientele. The software will enable the BREQ User to do off-line encoding of the application details.
Senior Statistical Specialist, Neil E. De La Torre from PSA Regional Statistical Service Office-Bicol explains the Flow of BREQS procedures or the process in requesting PSA copy from reliable LGU BREQS partner to transmittal at Civil Registry Service Outlet-Virac.
