Personnel of the Catanduanes police are mourning the loss of one of their top officers, PLt. Col. Eugenio A. Manondo, who died of a heart attack inside his quarters at Camp Francisco Camacho last Saturday.
A report said that at about 12:40 PM of Aug. 27, 2022, Pat. Primo Billones III discovered the Deputy Provincial Director for Administration lying on the floor of the comfort room inside his barracks.
The lawman immediately assisted Manondo in getting up and, with the help of Pat. Ryan Briones, carried him to the car of PLt. Col. Josefino Titong for transport to the nearby Eastern Bicol Medical Center where the victim was pronounced dead by Dr. Jefferson Espinola.
A native of San Vicente, Libmanan, Camarines Sur, the 50-year-old Manondo had served the PNP for 29 years after gaining his initial rank through lateral entry.
