A 48-year-old jobless man from Botinagan, Viga, was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation mounted by the Virac police station in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 5 last week.
In the operation that went down in San Isidro Village at 6:17 PM of Sept. 23, 2025, the authorities recovered a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected dangerous drugs, the buy-bust money and the motorcycle used by the suspect.
The inventory of the seized items was conducted at the scene in the presence of witnesses from the barangay and the Department of Justice (DOJ), with appropriate charges most likely filed by the police against the suspect before the Provincial Prosecution Office.
In San Andres town on the same day, a fishermen surrendered a loaded Cal. 22 revolver that he reportedly found inside a black sling bag while he was securing his boat in preparation for bad weather.
He said his foot came in contact with a hard object and upon inspection found the gun inside the sling bag.
