Salesman of CamSur trading firm faces complaint for qualified theft

A complaint for qualified theft was filed by a Camarines Sur-based company against its salesman in Virac after a considerable shortage in cash remittances was discovered.

The suspect, Gary Zafe Abundo, 30, married, a sales agent of Milaor Trading Corporation (MTC) and a resident of barangay Pajo San Isidro, voluntarily submitted himself to the Virac police station last Aug. 13, 2024 accompanied by the complainant, Donnelson Ong Co, the supply chain manager and officer-in-charge of the company.

The police said that three days earlier, on Aug. 10, 2024, Co found out that Abundo had a remittance shortage of P29,065.12, prompting management to conduct an inventory of the stocks and products at its warehouse in barangay Cavinitan.

After recording and tallying, the audit staff, Judeline Icaro, discovered that a big shortage in the suspect’s remittance, totaling P276,859.55.

An authorized distributor of Nestle products as well as other companies, MTC provides its business partners with warehouse, distribution and logistics services and operates in the National Capital Region (NCR), Calabarzon (Region IV-A) and Bicol Region (Region V), with routes in Batangas, Naga City, Legaspi, Sorsogon, Catanduanes and Masbate.
