Driver falls asleep at the wheel, bumps three vehicles in Bato

Three persons were injured in Bato town the other Sunday when a driver fell asleep at the wheel of a private car which then mowed down three parked vehicles in Sipi, Bato.
Francis Jose Alberto Camano, 25, a resident of San Roque, Virac, was driving a Hyundai Stargazer owned by Jose Rolando Gabriel Alberto Estacio bound for Virac at 7:45 PM of May 12, 2024 along the national highway at Sipi when he felt drowsy.
His car strayed off the road and hit a tricycle and two motorcycles, all without plate numbers, parked along the road.
Dut to the impact, the tricycle moved and bumped two victims about to ride a motorcycle as well as another who was just sitting on a monobloc chair near another tricycle.
The victims – auto mechanic Curt Mitt Tabuzo, 23, Curt Leah Vinzon Tabuzo, 3, and Eloisa de Jesus Tebelin, 28 – sustained injuries in the different parts of their bodies and were brought by responding MDRRMO personnel to the Bato Maternity and Children’s Hospital.
The Bato police earlier erroneously reported that the driver concerned was an employee of the San Miguel local government unit but this was belied by LGU officials.
