Thirty-three (33) teams, including Vice President Leni Robredo’s Vaccine Express, are now busy trying to meet the target of 44,486 people to be inoculated during the National COVID-19 Vaccination Days that will end today, Dec. 1, 2021.

At Virac Town Center’s Metrowalk, the OVP Vaccine Express is working with the Incident Management Team (IMT) and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to hit its total target of 9,000 people from 19 poblacion barangays.
Two teams of the Virac Rural Health Unit are likewise seeking to achieve their targets totaling 7,000 along with other teams from the Provincial Health Office, two private hospitals and the Catanduanes State University.
During the meeting of provincial and health officials, as well as representatives of other stakeholders and agencies, it was stressed that 33 teams were needed to inoculate about 450 people each day to achieve the daily target of 14,828 individuals.
The National Vaccination Day seeks to inoculate 15 million unvaccinated Filipinos in three days using whole-society approach, according to Malacanang, with Bicol region’s daily target set at 384,501 individuals.
In the entire region alone, 2,563 vaccination teams, composed of 12,817 professional healthcare workers to be assigned to 854 vaccination sites, have been fielded to various areas.
As of Nov. 19, 2021, the province of Catanduanes has the highest percentage of vaccinated target population among Bicol region with 35%, next is Albay 27%, Cam Sur 26%, Sorsogon 25%, Cam Norte 22% and Masbate with only 19%
Under the plan, all 315 barangay captains were ordered by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to submit to their respective RHUs the masterlists of unvaccinated residents.
The PHO and Municipal Health Offices were tasked to monitor the inventory of available vaccines, with municipal mayors told to submit the LGUs’ inventory of manpower, logistics, vaccination sites, and schedule of vaccination.
