A resident of San Andres town who claimed to be an instructor on leave of the Catanduanes State University has been arrested after a court-ordered search of his house found 14 sachets of shabu.
According to an informed source, joint teams from the San Andres police station and the Provincial Intelligence Branch raided the house of Daryl O. Pulvinar, who also works as band member, at barangay Palawig early in the morning of Oct. 27, 2020.
After surrounding the perimeter, the police knocked on the kitchen door at the back as the main door was blocked by sound system equipment and served the warrant on Pulvinar. He was with his live-in partner, who is also an instructor at the university.
During the search, the police found a small sachet of shabu laid against the wall at the kitchen lavatory and hidden behind two water containers.
In the bedroom, a Commando matchbox was found just below the window, with the box containing another six small sachets and seven medium-sized sachets. All in all, the illegal drugs weighed a total of 15.237 grams according to the laboratory examination conducted by the PNP Regional Crime Lab.
Observers noted that the sala of the house had been used as kennel for two pet dogs and a litter of puppies while the bedroom and the entire house was disorganized, with things placed here and there.
It is claimed that Pulvinar was prompted to leave the university after a complaint was filed against him for harassing his female student who wanted out of their amorous relationship.
Another source also said that he had been under monitoring for some time after reports were received that he had been selling illegal drugs to students.
Pulvinar denied that the illegal drugs were his and that the only thing seized from him was his cellphone.
He likewise said that the accusations were made by somebody who had a grudge against him, citing his causing the ejection of squatters inside his family’s property.
